Snow & Rose Tutoring | Creative Online Tuition for Home-Ed Children
🌹 Welcome to Snow & Rose Tutoring!
Hello! I'm Jo, a qualified, experienced primary school teacher and the founder of Snow & Rose Tutoring, based in Cambridgeshire.
I offer creative, personalised online English, maths, phonics and writing tuition for home-educated children aged approximately 5–14 (KS1–KS3).
I believe that every child deserves to feel confident and successful in their learning, and that education certainly doesn't have to mean endless worksheets!
My sessions are built around each child's interests, strengths and individual needs. From imaginative storytelling adventures and practical maths challenges to building reading confidence and strengthening essential skills, I aim to make learning something children genuinely look forward to.
I have extensive experience supporting children with SEND and neurodivergent learners, and I'm particularly passionate about finding different approaches for children who haven't always thrived in traditional classroom environments.
Whether your child needs help with a particular subject, wants to develop their creative writing or would simply benefit from some friendly, individual encouragement, I'd love to help.
💻 Online daytime availability
Wednesday and Friday: 12:30–3pm (UK time)
More weekday daytime sessions opening from January 2027!

Online Maths Tuition for confidence building and understanding, neurodiversity aware
I was home educated throughout my own childhood and have been working as a 1:1 private maths tutor with home educated children and young people for over a decade. I tutor maths online at all levels up to and including GCSE/iGCSE. I also have experience of tutoring for functional skills qualifications. My approach is supportive and playful, with a focus on enjoyment, discovery and confidence building.
I have experience of working with many neurodiverse learners (including autism, PDA, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, DCD, dysgraphia). I have also worked with learners with particular anxiety around maths or academic learning in general.
I often focus on helping learners to understand the foundations of mathematical concepts and how they interconnect, so that they can rely on their own understanding and adapt it to new topics, rather than having to rely on learning the rules afresh for each new topic. I find this can make maths both less intimidating and more enjoyable. The extent to which I do this and the way I go about it varies greatly depending on the individual learner and what works well for them. My sessions are varied and can include puzzles, collaborative challenges, conversation, worksheets, exam style questions, past papers, stories, interactive visual manipulatives and many different sorts of games.

Unearthing the Past | Online Archaeology for Home Educated Young People
Unearthing the Past
Live online archaeology for home-educated young people aged 11+
What can an object tell us about the people who made and used it? How do archaeologists work out what happened at a site? And can we ever be completely sure that our interpretation of the past is correct?
Unearthing the Past gives young people the opportunity to explore these questions through live, interactive online archaeology sessions.
Led by Ceri, an experienced teacher with a PGCE and a Masters in Iron Age Archaeology, the course explores the past through archaeological evidence, objects, sites and competing interpretations.
Rather than simply learning a list of dates and facts, students are encouraged to question evidence, develop interpretations and think like archaeologists.
Sessions draw on a broad range of periods, with particular expertise in prehistory and the Iron Age. We can explore everything from the Neolithic and Bronze Age through to later periods, depending on the course programme.
The sessions are designed for home-educated young people aged 11+ and are suitable for students with an existing interest in history and archaeology as well as those who are completely new to the subject.
What to expect:
- 90-minute live online sessions
- Small-group learning
- Archaeological objects and evidence
- Discussion and questioning
- Different interpretations of the past
- Activities designed to develop archaeological thinking
- A friendly, academically challenging environment

Zoomwriters Creative Writing Club (online)
ZoomWriters – Online Creative Writing Groups for Children and Teenagers
ZoomWriters is an online creative writing group for children and teenagers aged roughly 9–16.
Each small, friendly group meets weekly on Zoom and works together over the academic year to plan, write and complete a full-length novel. Every participant contributes their own writing, helps shape the plot and characters, and finishes the year as a published co-author of a real book.
The sessions are run by children’s author Robin Price and are designed to make creative writing social, collaborative and enjoyable. They can work particularly well for home-educated young people who enjoy stories but would like the motivation and companionship of writing alongside other young writers.
Groups are small, usually around 6–8 writers.
Parents are welcome to observe sessions, and full safeguarding and participation information is available online.
Age: approximately 9–16
Format: weekly online sessions via Zoom
Cost: £8.85 per session
UK-based; open to home-educated children and teenagers across the UK.
Free creative writing resources are also available on the website.
